ARLG: Purposeful Social Media for Academic Libraries (Delivered online, via Teams)

This is a hands-on and interactive workshop, focusing on social media withpurpose: defining what you want to achieve, who you want to reach, and what you actually need to say. We'll move beyond broadcasting updates, to a building strategic, sustainable online presence that genuinely matters. Our time is limited, so how do we use it most effectively?

Topics covered will include the social media landscape and the many available channels, using social media to further your library’s aims, voice and tone, interactivity, accessibility and increasing engagement. Platforms covered include Instagram, TikTok and Bluesky.

This course is aimed towards academic and research libraries.
