CILIP AGM

Join the CILIP AGM to celebrate our profession, hear about our key strategic priorities for the coming year and vote on key resolutions for members.

This year's AGM will present an opportunity to hear about the last twelve months; celebrate our professional roll-call; and announce the winner of our prestigious Mentor of the Year Award.

This year the CILIP AGM will be held on Tuesday 24th November 2026 as an online meeting via Zoom. 

This is a chance to connect to the governance of your association. It provides an opportunity for us to celebrate together as a profession, hear about current plans and review the future direction of CILIP.

We will hear from inspiring colleagues, hear an overview of professional highlights during 2026 as well as announcing Presidential Citations and Mentors of the Year.

Formally the AGM will receive the minutes of the last AGM, receive an update on CILIP’s work, receive the Treasurer’s report, the Annual Report and Accounts for the previous year and appoint CILIP’s auditors.

We call on all members and interested observers to join the meeting.

Voting

The AGM is a two-way opportunity - for you to vote on key issues and for us to listen and respond to your questions.

There are two resolutions being put to members for vote at the AGM:

RESOLUTION 1: That the minutes of the meeting held 15 October 2025 are approved as an accurate record of proceedings. View the minutes here 

If members wish to raise any corrections to the minutes you are asked to inform CILIP before polling opens and by 5pm 15 November 2026. Please email your corrections to membership@cilip.org.uk
 
RESOLUTION 2: To re-appoint PEM Audit Limited as CILIP’s statutory auditors for a period of one year, to audit the financial statements for the year end 31 December 2026. View the resolution supporting information here

Please note that all voting will be conducted online only. No postal voting packs will be administered to members. Members are invited to ensure CILIP has their up-to-date email details by emailing membership@cilip.org.uk. 

Voting at the AGM will be administered by Mi Voice. All members eligible to vote will receive an email with the details of how to cast your vote on or around 17 November 2026 when the voting opens. 

AGM Keynote Address: International Collaboration

As we look ahead to the IFLA World Library and Information Congress 2027, which will bring more than 4,000 library and knowledge professionals from over 130 countries to London, this year's AGM explores the power and potential of international partnership working across our sector. We are delighted to welcome Cécile Communal, Head of International at the British Library and Chair of the UK National Committee's Programming Subcommittee, to share insights from her extensive experience of global collaboration and to help inspire UK colleagues to seize the once-in-a-generation opportunities for learning, networking and international engagement that WLIC 2027 will offer.

Cécile Communal is Head of International at the British Library, leading the Library's international partnerships and global engagement activities. Since joining the British Library in 2018, she has played a key role in developing collaborations with libraries, cultural institutions and research organisations worldwide, supporting knowledge exchange, cultural heritage preservation and international development initiatives.
