YLG Yorkshire and the Humber: Finding Meaning in Reading: Engaging with boys aged 10-16

YLG Yorkshire and the Humber is pleased to invite you to our annual day school on Monday 16 November 2026.

It’s an unmissable professional learning opportunity for anyone working in a library setting.

Our focus will be on one of the cornerstones of the National Year of Reading: how to effectively engage with boys aged 10-16 and inspire a positive relationship with books and reading.

We’ll be joined by Carnegie Medal short-listed author Nathanael Lessore, who will present his own experiences and some helpful strategies for igniting a love of reading in libraries, schools and communities. Delegates will have the chance to share good practice and reflect on challenges and successes in an interactive afternoon breakout session. We’ll also have a free raffle where delegates will have the chance to win a special Nathanael Lessore book bundle, including his latest novel Like a Brother and a specially curated reading list.
